How much potting mix do I need for a 18 gal DIY self watering container for veggies?

So I thought I would blog what I’m eating to keep myself on track. I’m sure it will be pretty boring, lol

Breakfast: Protein shake (2 scoops of protein, strawberries and pineapple, ice and water and chia seeds) and a banana on the side

The protein powder said two scoops and that seemed like an awful lot, so tomorrow I will cut it down to 1 scoop. I had to use water because I forgot my Almond milk :( Booooo

So for those who follow me, you know last week I posted about premaking salad in a jars for the week. I was hesitant at first because I thought the lettuces would and it would just be a total nastyfest inside the jar.

It was a TOTAL SUCCESS! I so recommend making these for the work week. However I don’t recommend anything more than 5 days since I did not test past 5. You’re more then welcome to try and let me know how days 6 & 7 were.

I think the mason jar lids is where it’s at. It totally keeps air out of the jars. When you take that lid off, you can hear the air inside escaping, like ahhhh….freshness.

So those looking for a quick grab lunch on the go, I highly recommend making these little gems.

Happy salad making ya’ll

phattienz Asked:
What's in the bottom of your salad jar? Do these last till the end of the week?

My answer:

It’s salad dressing. This is the first time making these and I will post a follow up letting everyone know how fresh it is or isn’t. You want the wet stuff on the bottom so the greens don’t get soggy.
